Cancellation Policy
Our contract provides reasons for cancellation as stipulated by Massachusetts General Law. We are required to include Massachusetts General Law's language and terminology on all of our membership contracts. We have provided this form to further explain some of these cancellation policies and procedures.
Cancellation of Membership Before Your Contract is
Fulfilled OR if You Pre-Paid Your Membership in Full
If your membership is in good standing, you may cancel your membership for the following reasons:
- Upon your death.
- If you move your residence more than twenty-five miles from The Club. Cancellation will be approved once The Club has received from you: 1. proof of move (utility bill, bank statement, driver's license, etc.) 2. $50 cancellation fee 3. 30 day written notice.
- If upon a physician's written order you cannot use the facility for a period in excess of 3 or more months.
**Rebate of membership that was pre-paid in full: Management reserves the right to base rebate amounts for any discounted membership on full price of months used. Promotional memberships where The Club has given free months will not be rebated.
Cancellation of Membership That is Past the Contracted Time
(Applies to Open-Ended Membership Agreements Only)
Providing that your membership is in good standing and past its contracted term, membership may be cancelled with a thirty day written notice and no fee. We accept written cancellation by mail, fax or in person. Cancellation by e-mail is not accepted. If you cancel by either mail or fax, it is your responsibility to verify receipt and approval of your cancellation. Cancellations cannot be backdated.
Freeze Policy
We understand that under certain circumstances you may need to freeze your membership.
We allow a membership suspension or freeze for the following reasons:
- You are under a physicians order not to exercise. A doctor’s note is required to begin a freeze and unfreeze your membership.
- For military obligations. Proper documentation is required.
- For business obligations. A letter from your employer and a $25.00 freeze fee is required.
- You may freeze your membership at anytime for any reason with a freeze fee of $50.00.
Please note
- Freeze requests must be longer than 30 days.
- Freeze requests will only be authorized for regular memberships of a term longer than 6 months (with the exception of a medical freeze)
- Memberships must be in good standing (if paid monthly through automatic dues) or paid in full at the time of request.
- Under no circumstances will we back date a freeze. The freeze date will begin the day the freeze form is signed, documentation is given and freeze fee is paid (if applicable).
- Freeze requests will not extend past your membership contracted term.
- All membership time will be given at the end of your membership agreement. Please be aware that your monthly dues will continue through your freeze.
- We will not reimburse any membership time that was not paid for by the member as part of a promotion or donation to a charity.
